The Major family of Southern California immigrated to the US in 1998, from Stratford Ontario Canada. Our little family consists of myself (Bill) my best friend & wife, Denise and our "little American Citizen", Cassidy. Denise and I came to Los Angeles on vacation in September of 1997. We arrived at LAX with no "game plan" or any idea of what we were getting ourselves into. We spent several days sightseeing, visiting Disneyland and other attractions including Universal Studios Hollywood. On our first visit to Universal we noticed a sign on an office building for the company I work for. We noted the location and decided to visit the office the following day. We were treated to a tour of the office and after a brief discussion, were given a contact name at another office close by. To make a long story short (really) I ended up being asked to come in for an interview and was subsequently offered a job transfer to the LA area. After a lot of soul searching we made one of the biggest and hardest decisions of our lives. We decided to uproot our lives and "load up the truck and move to Beverly", so to speak. After four years of marriage Denise and I decided to sell our beautiful home. I opted for an inter-company transfer and Denise took a leave of absence (retired) from her job. Within four months of our visit I was on my way to LA. Denise followed a month later, after taking care of the final details of our "Canadian life" (yep, I bailed out on the work). Denise joined me February 14, 1998 in LA and we spent the next few months establishing our new lives in sunny California. As if our lives hadn’t changed enough, we soon learned that Denise was pregnant and she gave birth (Dec 5th) to our wonderful little gift from God…our little angel Cassidy. Well that about wraps up our life story (so far) and hopefully explains some of my reasons for putting up this web site…our family is all about three thousand miles away and we need an easy way to share developments and new pictures, with them.
Update - On August 28th, 2009, Denise and I were sworn in as Naturalized US Citizens! We are very pround to now be American Citizens and am also proud of our Canadian roots.
